WIPAPA Feb 26, Painters on Paint Day in Hales Corners, WI

We had a great time painting on the snowy day in Hales Corners, WI, on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Join us at our next meeting, Saturday, March 26, 2011.
This past time, in February, we painted in the morning till noon then had a critique while eating lunch. After lunch and critique we studied the images of artist Ian Roberts and his variations on composition to a painting that destroyed the strength of a composition. That viewing activity alone can greatly improved our ability to analyze the problems in our own compositions.

It was a fun and fruitful day.

What will a painting day in Hales Corners be like?
Hales Corners, in part pictured here, is a old suburban community with rural flavor, 1930's homes and mature trees, yet also vistas of open sky on hills.

Now included in these pictures, but less than 5 minutes away is Whitnall Park one of the premier parks of Milwaukee County with prairie, woodland and marshlands as well as gentle hills. Join us to paint on this day.

Also available is a great warming location at Judith Reidy's home in the heart of Hales Corners. There you will also find indoor opportunities to paint either a still life or a view of the outside as well as hot cider to warm you.

Bring your own bag lunch for a critique at noon.
